Western Australian Community Access Networks (WACAN) Inc. was founded in 2014 to facilitate the deployment and management of community based networks in Western Australia, for both enthusiasts and the general community, and to encourage and foster experimentation and learning of wireless and networking technologies.
WACAN is incorporated as a non-profit association under the West Australian Associations Incorporation Act of 1987. We are registered with the Australian Tax Office as an Other Incorporated Entity and hold the ABN 94 511 631 725.
We also aim to encourage safe and responsible usage of wireless networking equipment, provide training on industry best practices, negotiate discounts with suppliers and vendors for the benefit of the community, and encourage active and positive participation from all members.
