There are 6 Committee positions up for election at the 2021 AGM.
The 2021 WACAN Committee Nominees are:
Alex Austin – Alex
Exposed to Computing and networking from birth, Alex has grown up being exposed to the bleeding edge of the technology space. He has a broad skillset encompassing Enterprise IT, networking, service management, systems integration and Quality Assurance. His strong interest in all things technology, and enjoyment of learning and tinkering with new things make him an ideal person for assisting WACAN in evolving as a community.
Brenton Hewitt – hewball
Brenton has been in and around the Perth IT community since 2001, having started work as a support technician for the South-West Regional Schools district before moving in 2006 to an operational role at a well known ISP. He currently works as the IT Manager for a local not-for-profit organisation.
Shane Short – Shorty
Having worked across a variety of roles in IT and associated industries for many years, Shane co-founded his own web hosting company in 2008. Prior to this, he held a number of technical positions at a leading Perth ISP. As a technology enthusiast with a keen creative mind, he continues to donate his time and services to other not-for-profit groups throughout WA.
Ben Sowden– Nedwos
Became involved in computers in the 1980s and have had a love for them every since. I have had experience in small business it and been a hobbyist for almost every. I do live in country WA however i believe that will bring some diversity into the group as the challenges of IT/Networking are a little different in the sticks
